Chloe Percy-Smith is a Birmingham based saxophonist, approaching her final year of Masters study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, supported by Help Musicians UK. In recent years she has been active both as a soloist and ensemble member, with highlights including winning the Birmingham Conservatoire Saxophone Prize in 2016, third place in the Chandos Young Musician Competition in 2015, performing with the EUYWO in 2015, and with the CBSO Youth Orchestra in 2016. As a multi-instrumentalist, doubling on flute and clarinet, recent work includes the Thursford Christmas Spectacular 2017, alongside a variety of local Midlands based productions. Chloe’s latest venture is a joint chamber project with musicians Emma Jones (saxophone) and Amy Bladon (piano), forming the Kassia Trio, a modern re-invention of the piano trio, with whom she looks forward to performing and exploring new repertoire. Outside of playing work, Chloe is active as a woodwind teacher across the West Midlands.
