Daniel Kemshell (b. 1996) is a guitarist and composer currently based in London, UK - originally born in Aberdeen to mixed British/Bruneian parents. He works in the fields of jazz and improvised music.
He is a bandleader and sideman for various projects, including his trio/quartet, ORIXAS, Adam Woodcock’s Meridian and recently Hansu-Tori’s In Search of Common Paradise. Future plans include a quartet recording as well as the release of Orixas’ self-titled EP (November 2019).
Daniel received musical education at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire - graduating with a BMus(Hons) Jazz Guitar with first class honours in 2018. He has studied on the Erasmus exchange programme (Jazz Institut Berlin) and is now completing a Masters at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. He is a Trinity College London Scholar and currently holds a Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award.
