Gideon is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a postgraduate scholar under the tutelage of Paul Beniston, Will O’Sullivan and Nick Betts. While studying, he has worked with the orchestras of the Welsh National Opera, English National Ballet, Sinfonia Cymru and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales having recorded and performed live with them on BBC Radio 3. Alongside his studies, he has taken part in master-classes with internationally renowned brass musicians such as Reinhold Friedrich, Tine Thing Helseth, Chris Martin, Phil Cobb, Jason Evans, Rex Richardson, members of London Brass, Mnozil Brass, Septura and the Mariinsky Brass Ensemble.

Since starting Guildhall, Gideon has played principal trumpet with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra in the Barbican, Guildhall Brass Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and New Music Ensemble. As well as this, Gideon receives regular opportunities to sit in rehearsals with London Symphony Orchestra and receive coaching from the brass players of the orchestra. He was also recently appointed principal trumpet of the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra.

Prior to his time in London, Gideon studied with Andrew Everton and Dean Wright at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he performed as principal trumpet with every major college ensemble and held an orchestral placement with the Welsh National Opera for two years. He was a member of the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain and the CBSO Youth Orchestra Academy.

Recent appearances as a soloist include performing Hummel's Trumpet Concerto in Eb and Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and Strings with the Westmorland Orchestra and Cambrian Orchestra.
He has also played for HRH The Queen on her visit to the Barbican in 2012 and on two occasions for HRH The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.
