Jaimee began playing the clarinet at age twelve with Ruth Ellis and went on to receive ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction three years later. In March 2014, she made her concerto debut, performing Il Carnevale di Venezia. She has also performed Carmen Fantasy, with the RCS Wind Orchestra in October 2017, and, Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 with Glasgow Symphony Orchestra in December 2017.
A finalist in the European Yamaha Clarinet Competition in February 2018, Jaimee was also Highly Commended in the Edinburgh Concerto Competition Festival in 2016, with her performance of Copland’s Clarinet Concerto.
Jaimee studied at the Junior Conservatoire for a year before beginning her undergraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she is studying for her Masters degree. She has been taught by Ruth Ellis, Alison Waller, Yann Ghiro, John Cushing, Lawrence Gill, Joe Pacewicz and Heather Nicoll.
In 2018, Jaimee won the RCS/SCO side by side scheme as well as the RCS/BBC SSO apprenticeship in 2016. She has played in three RSNO Side By Side’s on Eb clarinet and regularly performs in many of the Conservatoire’s ensembles including symphony orchestra, opera orchestra, wind orchestra and Music Lab. In 2017, she performed with NYOS and also the New Generation Festival Orchestra in Florence, Italy. She was also a member of the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra for five years. Other engagements have included guest principal clarinet with Scottish Sinfonia.
