Maebh- pronounced Maeve- is a singer-songwriter and producer from Cumbria. Influenced by playing fiddle in her youth, Maebh's music is folk-inflected, flooded with layers of harmony and always with an element of improvisation.
After studying electronic composition at university, Maebh’s interests have gone on to writing pop music and composing for film. The resulting style is intricate and hard to define, and her songs are captivatingly sensitive and original.
While living in Glasgow, Maebh worked with Joe McAlinden on the coast of Argyll to release two tracks, Dreaming All Along (2019) and Fingertips (May 2020).
Now, Maebh is working independently to produce fresh and upbeat music. Flower (July 2020) was her latest release, and is a song for the summer.
Now based in London, Maebh is studying for a part-time masters in Creative Practice at Goldsmiths. 2021 will see the release of her exciting debut self-produced EP- it's going to be a great year.
With the support of Help Musicians' I can confidently release my debut EP, written and recorded in Cumbria during the first lockdown. The grant will be going towards mixing and mastering, PR, photography and video editing. I will be releasing the tracks individually as singles from early 2021, and I am so grateful I can do so with this generous backing and support.
