Lithuanian born pianist Monika Mašanauskaitė is a prizewinner of a number international piano competitions in Scotland, Spain, Poland, France, Greece, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania. She has been successfully participating in various piano courses and festivals throughout Europe including Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Austria, MusicAlp, Festival de Piano de Saint-Savin in France, Youth Music Festival in Armenia and Klaipeda Piano Masters in Lithuania. As a soloist Monika has performed with Kaunas state symphony orchestra and Liceu conservatoire youth orchestra. In 2016, she won 1st prize at the International Piano Competition "Joventuts Musicals de Vilafranca del Penedès" in Spain.
Her latest achievements includes 1st prize at the 27th Chamber Music Competition "Josep Mirabent I Migrans" in Spain, where she appeared as a member of piano trio “Trio Doyenne” together with violinist Michelle Dierx and cellist Shannon Merciel. Their international success was followed by a summer tour in Europe. Trio performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Catalunya Classica Al Raco de la Calma music series, The Prince Charles’s Dumfries house and Festival Musique et Patrimoine en Vienne et Gartempe in France. In 2018 "Trio Doyenne" was awarded with Mary D Adams Prize for Chamber Music by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Monika graduated with 1st class Bachelor of Music Degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), where she studied with Professors Fali Pavri and Aaron Shorr. She currently continues her Master’s studies at the RCS with Professor Norman Beedie. Monika has also studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with Professor Zbignevas Ibelhauptas and Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona with Professor Stanislav Pochekin. Throughout her studies Monika has participated in masterclasses with eminent pianists and professors such as Olga Kern, Mikhail Voskresensky, Pascal Devoyon, Michel Beroff, Christopher Elton, Steven Osborne, Hortense Cartier-Bresson.
Monika is Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award holder and has been kindly supported by Lithuanian, Roderick F. Tuck, Kathleen, McGlashan, Denne Gilkes Memorial, Hope Scott and Vilnius Saint Christopher Rotary Club Foundations. For her achievements she has also received acknowledgements from the Presidents of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė and Valdas Adamkus.
In 2018 summer, Monika founded and became an artistic director of the international piano festival and masterclasses "Kaunas Piano Fest" in Lithuania.
