Renee Fajardo was born in Manila, Philippines and recently graduated with First Class honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Londo, where she studied with Susan Waters under scholarship from the Guildhall School Trust and the National Commission of Culture and the Arts of the Philippines.
In Manila, she performed in various opera choruses, concertized widely with VivaVoce Voice Lab and was a recurring soloist of the Manila Symphony Orchestra.
In 2017, she won first prize at the Courtney Kenny Award and was consequently featured in the London Song Festival. The summer of the following year, Renee was a fellow at the Toronto Summer Music Festival and performed in concert at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg.
This year, she has performed at the Barbican Centre’s Sound Unbound Festival, UCL Performance Lab’s ‘The Tsar wants his photo taken’ and the Voices of London Festival. In early September, she will be singing Donna Anna at Grimeborn Opera Festival’s ‘Don Jo’. She will be performing Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Fanny Price (Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park) for University of Toronto Opera's 2019/20 season.
Renee will be attending the Gstaad Menuhin Summer Vocal Academy with Silvana Bartoli in late August under the Transmission Fund of Help Musicians UK.
