Svetlina is a Bulgarian mezzo-soprano, in her final year at the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under Clare Shearer. She is also a Samling Artist.
Her operatic roles include Nerone, Agrippina; Veronique, Le docteur Miracle; Mother, Mavra; Bridesmaid, Le nozze di Figaro; L’umana fragilita., Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria. She has also performed in part Octavian, Der Rosenkavalier; Man Friday, Robinson Crusoe; Rosina, Il barbiere di Siviglia; Cherubino, Le nozze di Figaro; Dorabella, Cosi fan tutte; Annio, La clemenza di Tito; Fidalma, Il matrimonio segreto; Lucretia, Lucretia; Frau Reich, Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor; Juno, Semele; Mrs Quickly, Falstaff.
Also a prolific concert singer and recitalist, Svetlina has performed in recitals sponsored by the organisation Live Music Now. Recently she performed Beethoven Mass in C Major and Vivaldi Gloria with the orchestra of Scottish Opera in City Halls and was invited to do a recital as part of the international festival Sofia Music Weeks.
Winner of the Elgar/ Spedding Memorial Lieder competition and highly commended in both Governor’s recital prize and Tony and Tanya Russian song prize. In August 2016, she won 3rd prize in Le Grand Prix de l’Opera international singing competition and was the highest ranked female singer. Most recently, she was awarded 2nd prize in the Ye Cronies Opera competition. 
After winning the prize at Le Grand Prix de l’Opera, Svetlina was invited to spend a week recording with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio which happened at the beginning of February.
Svetlina is very grateful to have received Help Musicians UK Sybil Tutton Award, RCS Trust scholarship, Independent Opera Voice Scholarship & Fellowship and the Countess of Munster Star Award.
