Health & Welfare - Mental Health

Mental Health

Help Musicians understands that a musician’s profession is unique.

With the highs and lows of performing, financial insecurity and anti-social working hours, we want to help ensure that those who pursue a career in music will not have to do so at the expense of their mental health.

Our latest mental health campaign—#MusicMindsMatter—was launched in 2017 and is the charity's commitment to launch a dedicated support line and service for the UK music industry.

Music Minds Matter 24/7 support line and service

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Music Minds Matter is a support line and service for the whole UK music community.

Call 0808 802 8008.

Launched in December 2017, Music Minds Matter is the industry’s most comprehensive service yet – linking advice, signposting, clinical pathways and professional therapeutic services to Help Musicians' traditional grants for musicians in need.

Can Music Make You Sick?

Help Musicians commissioned the largest known academic study into musicians' mental health, Can Music Make You Sick? This research, conducted by the University of Westminster and MusicTank, has formed a large part of the charity's mental health campaign and looks at the effect working in the industry can have on general wellbeing.
