Season 2 of Performance Peace with Seye Adelekan has returned
Music Minds Matter’s Performance Peace podcast returns for a second season, launching with MOBO Award-winning rapper, author and broadcaster Guvna B.
Performance Peace is a video and audio podcast hosted by Gorillaz bassist Seye Adelekan. Across six monthly episodes, Performance Peace brings together people from across the music industry to talk openly about building a career in music while looking after mental health. The series aims to encourage conversations around wellbeing and highlight the free, confidential support available through Music Minds Matter.
In the first episode, Guvna B joins Seye to discuss the realities of working in music. They talk about how his view of success has changed over time, lessons from his latest album, and the importance of creating a career that supports wellbeing. The conversation also touches on masculinity, faith and knowing when to ask for support.
“We’re excited to welcome Guvna B as the first guest of Season 2,” says Seye Adelekan. “These conversations are about creating space for honesty. The music industry is full of talented people facing unique pressures, and by sharing our experiences openly, we can help make seeking support feel normal rather than something people only do in crisis. I’m also really excited for people to see the incredible range of voices we’ve brought together for this series. Every guest offers a different perspective on life in music, and I think those conversations will resonate with people wherever they are in their own journey.“
Throughout the season, Seye will be joined by musicians, label executives, academics and researchers, who will share their experiences of working in music. Topics include performance pressure, burnout, identity and resilience.
