Originally from New Zealand, Claire moved to London in 2011, after graduating with a Bachelor of
Music (First Class Honours) from the New Zealand School of Music.
She then studied at the Royal College of Music, working with Simon Lepper, Roger Vignoles and
Elizabeth Burley. During her studies she was awarded the Help Musicians UK Accompanist Prize,
the Violette Szabo GC Memoriam Prize, received the John and Marjorie Coultate Award and the
Soirée d'Or Award, as well as being a post-graduate fellow of the New Zealand Federation of
Graduate Women.
Claire graduated from the RCM in 2015 with a Masters of Performance in Piano Accompaniment
(Distinction). She works as a freelance pianist, primarily with singers, and performs regularly
throughout the UK and Europe. She is a regular accompanist for the Academie de La Roche D'Hys
opera workshop in Burgundy, France and also works regularly with a number of London-based
choirs.
Claire also has a keen interest in contemporary music and has given the premiere performances of many new works, both as a soloist and as a member of a chamber ensemble.
