Guitarist Jamie Leeming is fast building a reputation for himself with his lyrical guitar playing, refined compositions and mesmerising live performances. His debut EP “Heartsong” was named one of Jazz London Radio’s “Best Jazz Releases of 2015”, with live show appearances on Jazz FM, at Love Supreme Festival, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho and New Generation Jazz Brighton. He has worked and appeared with exciting and progressive artists including Alfa Mist, Maria Chiara Argirò, Chris Potter, Laura Groves, Tom Misch, Jonny Mansfield and members of Vels Trio.
He has performed at some of the UK’s finest venues, including The Hammersmith Apollo, Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Roundhouse, Ronnie Scott’s, Koko, Celtic Connections Festival, The EFG London Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Union Chapel. Internationally, he has performed at prestigious venues/festivals such as The Blue Note Jazz Club Tokyo and Nagoya (JP), Cape Town Jazz Festival (ZA), Jazz a la Vilette (FR), New Morning (FR), Paradiso Amsterdam (NL), Brussels Jazz Festival (BE), Red Bull Music Festival (CH), Akbank Jazz Festival Istanbul (TR), The Oxford Arts Factory Sydney (AU) and Wonderfruit, Pattaya (TH).

I will be using this grant to record and release a collection of new pieces, written during the start of the lockdown period. It will help me to fund recording, media and PR costs, and I am grateful to Help Musicians for enabling me to realise this project.
