Laura is studying for her Master’s in Orchestral Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, having graduated there with a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in 2017. She studies with Tim Lines, Robert Plane and Alison Lambert. Originally from Devon, Laura began studying the clarinet aged 8. She was a winner of the 2012 Two Moors Festival’s Young Musicians’ Platform Competition.

Laura has performed with all the RWCMD ensembles, notably playing principal in Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade in 2016 with the RWCMD Symphony Orchestra at St David’s Hall. As part of her course Laura enjoys professional placement schemes with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera. She has also been engaged as an extra player for Welsh National Opera. Laura is a finalist in the 2018 Ian Stoutzker Prize for most outstanding instrumentalist, the most prestigious award at the RWCMD.
