Lillie Harris is about to graduate from the undergraduate composition course at the Royal College of Music, studying with Haris Kittos. Musical from a young age, her interest in composing grew out of learning various instruments, a flair for languages, and creative writing. Her works have been workshopped by Florilegium, Fretwork, the RSNO and the Gaudier Ensemble, and performed at the National Portrait Gallery, Southbank Centre, Science Museum, and King’s Place. She was in the Royal National Scottish Orchestra’s Composers Hub this year, from which her orchestral work ‘remiscipate’ was chosen to be performed in the RSNO’s Season Finale concerts; a five-star review of the concert described her work as "an impressive display of purposeful thinking", "done so cogently and with such coherence and integrity". Her commission for the Gaudier Ensemble, to write a work commemorating the centenary of the death of sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, was performed at the 25th Anniversary Cerne Abbas Festival in July 2015.
