I am a singer and composer of music for voices, based in Dumfries & Galloway, inspired by nature, politics and community.

My compositional style has multi-layered riffs, repetitive phrases and motifs threading through, often clashing pretty melodies with jarring harmonies. I’m comfortable with the uncomfortable; happy to push the boundaries of listening pleasure, as well as my vocalists’ capabilities.

I have no formal training in music theory or practise; I am, up until now, entirely self-taught. This is fundamentally very important to me as I believe it is what has helped my unique style emerge in the way it has. I have enjoyed the freedom of having had no formal music education, but I am aware this is limiting and am therefore currently building on my knowledge and understanding of music theory and composition.

I have received funding support from Creative Scotland, Help Musicians UK, DG Unlimited and Musicians’ Union.
