Matthew Peacock is an electric guitarist, composer, producer and arranger based in Manchester. In 2018 he graduated with a First-Class Honours from University of Salford. At the graduate awards ceremony, he won the ‘Bill Leader Studio & Recording Production Award’, by being the highest marked student of that year. He was also highly commended at the Create Student Awards; and was the only music student nominated for the ‘Create Student: Music and Dance Award’.
He has a multitude of years’ experience, playing at the highest level and is supported by Help Musicians. It has seen him perform live in front of thousands of people at festivals, and events across the UK and Europe, with some of the highlights supporting from the likes of Madness, to Mani!
In 2017, Matthew held the guitar chair position for Freedom! 19’ UK tour, performing over 250 shows to date. This led to opportunities holding deputy chair positions on UK touring shows such as Take That’s record-breaking West End musical, The Band; and Motown The Musical.
Matthew is currently undertaking a Masters’ Degree, at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he is being taught by Stuart McCallum and Mike Walker. He has been thriving, and has performed and arranged for the renowned RNCM Session Orchestra.
He is an in-demand player, working regularly as a freelance guitarist. He has recently been the touring guitarist for ‘Chesqua’ on the ‘Welcome To My City’ UK tour with Punch Records, as well as guitarist for ‘Design Rewind’, and most recently for ‘Captus’ at Manchester Jazz Festival. He is currently composing some of his own original material and is highly creative in his own right.
As well as being a thrilling and well-respected guitarist, he is also a tenor vocalist in the award-winning Manchester Inspirational Voices, led by the esteemed vocalist Wayne Ellington.
