Sam Healey was Born in Kent, UK 1990 and began playing saxophone aged 11. Sam attended Chethams school of Music and Purcell school of music before completing a classical performance undergraduate degree at RNCM in 2012 alongside becoming a fellow of the ABRSM - since then Sam has worked internationally as Soprano Sax for Norway’s Ensemble Denada as well as 6 years as lead alto for Manchester’s Beats and Pieces Band. In recent times, Sam has formed and successfully toured his new Duo, Skeltr, including a 6 date UK Tour supporting LA sensation Louis Cole and his band Knower. In 2019, Sam has been part of the Take5 scheme with Serious, giving him the opportunity of gigging with world class musicians such as Marcus Miller. Skeltr’s second album will be available March 2020 through the Peter Whittingham Award 2019 courtesy of the charity Help Musicians
