Independent musicians face unique challenge juggling business responsibilities alongside creative work. Whether you plan to continue self-management or to team up with a dedicated manager in the future, this session aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the areas you need to consider for a successful and smooth-running artist business.

We will identify the areas you can prioritise straightaway, and introduce you to practical strategies for maintaining your artistic direction, staying motivated and building resilience.

Diane Wagg has a unique wealth of experience gained over her long career in the music business.

She’s managed the international careers of numerous artists, signing them to Major and Independent labels and running self-releasing artist businesses. She’s worked with acts including David Bowie, George Michael, Thin Lizzy, Beth Orton, The Waterboys, Republica and Scouting for Girls across roles in A&R, Artist, Producer and Studio Management.

Diane is a Consultant to artists and young professionals building their businesses and is an experienced Professional Coach.
