If you’re a producer, DJ or musician creating or performing electronic music, and you’re looking to take the next step in your career, this could for you (sign up for email alerts below).
The Electronic Music Award a 12-month career accelerator that connects you to other electronic artists, provides business advice, builds out your industry knowledge, and provides funding for your music.
The Award is open to musicians who:
- Have made at least 40% of their income from music over the past two years. Musicians with a long-term health condition and/or disability that impacts their ability to work as a musician will just need to show some income from music within the past two years
- Are aged 18 or over, live in the UK with the right to work, and have a UK bank account
- Have no more than £10,000 in savings, and don’t have access to other capital that could fund your planned activity
Applicants must also be making music in an electronic genre (more below), commit to the activities and key dates within the programme, and deliver their funded activity within 12 months. You must also have control over one or more aspects of your career, i.e., self-managing, self-releasing or self-producing.
Who is this Award for?
This award is for electronic musicians, DJs and producers aiming to take the next step in their music career. You might be planning an EP, building out your career by moving into production, or have other plans — this Award is here to help.
It’s open to all electronic genres including house, techno, drum and bass, UK garage, bass, amapiano, trance, grime, drill and ambient, as well as new and emerging sub genres in dance and electronic music.
What does this award include?
- Up to £3,000 towards your own music project
- 1 – 2‑1 Business Advice from industry experts
- Online meet ups with other awardees and industry guests
- Access to a one-day peer and industry mixer event in London
