VOLUNTEER EVENT ASSISTANTS WANTED FOR HMUK ACTIVITY IN EDINBURGH INCL WIDE DAYS MUSIC CONVENTION

Wide Days

Thursday 20 April 1pm – 6pm; Friday 21 April 8.30am - 11am

Location: Teviot Row House, 13 Bristo Place, Edinburgh, EH8 9AJ

We are looking for three volunteer event assistants to help us facilitate our presence in Edinburgh before and at the Wide Days Music Convention.

Are you passionate about music and want to network within the industry whilst spreading the word about our charity?

We will need you to act as an ambassador of Help Musicians UK and act as the public face of the charity to the musicians we help, help increase awareness of our work by speaking with event attendees, promote ways for people to get involved and support Help Musicians UK e.g. through community fundraising initiatives and volunteering, and assist the event organisers.

Wide Days was launched in 2010 and is Scotland’s only music- business convention. Wide Days has attracted key music industry players from the UK, US, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands and was used to launch the Music Venue Trust, the Off Axis gigging network and establish a green festivals network in Scotland.

On Thursday 20 April, Help Musicians are hosting an invite-only round table session for leaders of the Scottish music industry. You will help facilitate the event, welcoming guests, and being an ambassador of Help Musicians, whilst gaining excellent insight into the leading conversations of the music industry. You will need to arrive at 1pm and it will be finished by 6.30pm.

On Friday 21 April, Help Musicians UK are welcoming 50 delegates who are part of the Bursary Scheme to receive their passes and find out more about who we are. You will again act as an ambassador of the charity, and help facilitate this.

VOLUNTEER AMBASSADORS WANTED FOR BRIGHTON MUSIC CONFERENCE

27/28 April, Brighton DomeBMC

We are looking for one or two volunteers based in Brighton or London to help us facilitate our presence at the Brighton Music Conference and help us by increasing awareness of our vital work as the country’s leading independent music charity.

Are you passionate about music and want to network within the industry whilst spreading the word about our charity and representing Help Musicians UK?

We will need you to act as an ambassador of Help Musicians UK and act as the public face of the charity whilst talking to the conference attendees about what services and support Help Musicians UK provide for professional musicians and engaging the wider support of the industry as well as assist in setting up and manning a Help Musicians UK stand.

The Brighton Music Conference is the UK’s foremost electronic music conference and networking event for professionals and enthusiasts. The conference brings together industry leading delegates and speakers at over 50 talks, seminars and workshops, alongside networking and club events throughout the conference’s duration.

Companies and partners confirmed for 2017 include: The Association For Electronic Music, BPI, PRS for Music, PPL, MMF (Music Managers Forum UK) and many more.

There will be panels on a range of industry topics from the likes ofHelp Musicians UK, , DJ Mag & MMF, networking events and showcases from world class artists and DJ’s.

Lunch and travel expenses will be covered.

VOLUNTEER AMBASSADOR & FUNDRAISER FOR WORLD ACCORDION DAY 2017

World Accordion DayWe are looking for one or two volunteers based in or near Bristol to help us by increasing awareness of our vital work for supporting professional musicians through helping to man a stand, fundraise for us and hand out literature at the World Accordion Day Concert. 

Are you passionate about live music and want to spread the word about our charity?

We will need you to act as an ambassador of Help Musicians UK whilst talking to the public about what services and support Help Musicians UK provide for professional musicians, engaging the wider support of the public as well as assist in setting up and manning a Help Musicians UK stand.

The first World Accordion Day was held on 6th May 2009 and the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) has been promoting this ever since. The first marked the 180th birthday of the accordion - May 6th 1829, when the accordion was first patented in Vienna, Austria by Cyrillius Demien.

Top accordionists Karen Street and Karen Tweed will be performing in Colston Hall Foyer, Bristol, to celebrate World Accordion Day with 46 other accordionists to play a wonderful array of sing a long favourites from 2pm on Saturday May 6th. It promises to be a great free family event – bring your friends along to sing, to dance, to watch and listen to a grand celebration of this extraordinary instrument.
