We recognise the strains that long-term illness and disability can place on musicians and provide specialist advice and support to help improve quality of life.
You should contact us if a serious injury, illness or disability means you:
- Are unable to work in the long term, or ever again
- Need of a lot of support to carry on working as a musician
- Need help to retrain so you can earn a living in an alternative career.
Because every case is different, we will work out how best to help by visiting you. We will continue to visit over the course of our relationship so the support we offer is adapted to suit you.
In many cases public services will, or should, provide basic care and support packages. We can help check these are in place and advise on what might be available to you. Very often our help results in improved quality of life, or help with one-off items of expenditure. This might include help towards buying a mobility vehicle, or paying for adaptations in your home such as a wet room or access to the garden.
We understand the vital role that families and carers play and can provide respite breaks, including an annual break at a specialist hotel for people with disabilities – a chance to step back from the day-to-day and meet other musicians.
